Carol J. Turner

I am a 71 year old grandmother of 3 and Great-Grandmother of 6. I presently have 3 motorcycles.

My husband taught me to ride in 1959, when we bought a 1959 Harley Davidson Hummer (165cc). He bought the bike to ride to work, so he could leave the car for me. The Hummer proved too small for him to commute 30 miles to work, so in 1961, we bought a 1961 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster.

In 1985, my husband was in an accident on Interstate 75, while working on the roadway for the Florida Department of Transportation. After that, he did not ride anymore. I guess that is one reason I love our WITW club so much... I have wonderful people to ride with. I just can't give up motorcycling. My husband passed away in 2007.

Since my husband quit riding I have owned a Honda CB 450 cc, a Honda Magna 500cc, and a Yamaha Virago 750cc.

I like to ride the Ridley, because I get lots of comments on its good looks, but I like to ride the Virago best because it is the most reliable. I am saving the Rebel, so I'll still have a bike I can ride after I get too old to handle the bigger ones.
